Recreational Areas

The recreational areas of this resort community include tennis courts, paddle ball courts, a soccer field,  swimming pool and children's playground. Because the club holds sports tournaments, the developer wanted the landscape to be inviting, impressive and unique. Green areas are very formal and structured. Walkways are lined with soft forms and the color pallette is more subtle throughout the recreational areas.

The gardens needed to be functional, as well. Part of their purpose was to create windbreaks to help shield ball players from the strong, salty winds coming off the gulf. Shade was added wherever possible using large trees such as tabebuia and casuarina, in addition to a wide variety of palm trees.
